Every Product Has One
If you slept in a hotel, resort or cruise ship with bedding chances are it had one of those crinkly law labels on it. This is the Law Label and they are required on all filled bedding products by the government and give information on the product including who made it, style, sizing, product number
and certain materials. Whether DOWNLITE sold the hotel directly or they bought an item through a distributor each item will have one (sometimes they are cut off or shrunken and hard to read). DOWNLITE is the brand on the label - not the filling material or model number - so please be sure to read the info below to help us help you better.
This label when legible has all the information on it to allow us to be able to help you determine what items you slept with and for eventual purchase for home. Model numbers used by DOWNLITE are 24 characters long (this includes dashes). A typical item we make and sell has a model number that starts with the prefix of HOS100. Then the next 2 characters identify the type of item (PI for pillow, CO for comforter, FB or MP for feather beds or mattress pads). The next 4 characters identify the style and have 4 characters (0050 for example). Then lastly the color and size info follows in the item code.
Extra Tips: Frequently we have folks telling us the model number does not work in our search box - that is because black ink on the crinkly law label can make the I in PI looks like a 1 when printed (Also the 0' look like O's when printed). As a back up we can also look up another number on the label appearing on the bottom that starts with an F or a J - usually only several characters as long. The one number that does not help in the bedding search is our Federal Registration or RN #. In the event you can not find your hotel on our list and we have no cross reference information then we suggest contacting the housekeeping manager at the property and having them track down the model number.
We highly recommend using the search tools provided on this hotel bedding search page.
